Q3. (a) An antacid tablet is taken when you suffer from acidity. Explain why?
(b) Write the name of any one artificial indicator.​

(a) Acidity is caused due to the excess production of acids in the stomach. An antacid tablet contains bases, such as milk of magnesia(magnesium hydroxide, gelusil,etc. These bases react with excess of acids and neutralize the effect of excessive acid and brings relief.

(b) Synthetic indicators are indicators which are synthesized in the laboratory. Examples of synthetic indicators include phenolphthalein, methyl orange etc. litmus paper is also an example of synthetic indicator.
