How The Little Kite Learned to Fly
- Katherine Pyle
"I never can do it", the little kite said,
As he looked at the other things high over his head.
"I know I should fall if I tried to fly."
"Try", said the big kite, "only try!
Or I fear you never will learn at all."
But the little kite said: "I'm afraid I'll fall."
The big kite nodded: "Ah, well, goodbye;"
I am off." And he rose toward their tranquil sky.
Now let me add a self-written poem:
I never can do
If I never try;
Things will get lost
Always with a 'Why'.
Before me lies the path
To my rise or fall;
It's me who has to choose
To go on or to stall.
The sun is hotter today
Than all other days;
Even it is failure,
I will find better ways.
I should try once more
Than to cry another sore.
