Working out:

We have to find the median of the above provided data where we can see that few numbers are given. For this, follow the steps as below:

  • Line up the numbers in ascending or descending order.

  • If the no. of numbers in odd, median is the middle entry. If n = odd, median = (n + 1/2)th term.

  • If no. of numbers is even, median is equal to the sum of two middle entries divided by 2. If n = even, median = {n/2th + (n/2 + 1)th} / 2

So, let's start solving....

GiveN Data = 5,7,9,0,6,9,8,4,5.

Sorting = 0,4,5,5,6,7,8,9,9

Number of terms = 9 (odd)

Then, median = (9 + 1/2)th term = 5th term

  • And the 5th term is 6

Hence, the median of the data is:

  \huge{ \boxed{ \sf{ \red{ 6}}}}

And we are done !!

Given :-

  • 5,7,9,0,6,98,4,5

______________________

To Find:-

  • The Median of the data

________________________

Solution :-

  • We are given with a data 5,7,9,0,6,9,8,4,5

  • The data is not in order so, lets make it into accenting order

  • 0,4,5,5,6,7,8,9,9 is the accenting order...

  • Now lets find the median if the data!!

Now,

  • When a given data series is odd that means the number of data is odd then to find the median we use the equation Median = (n+1)/2

  • When a given set of Numbers are even then the equation Median = n/2

____________________________

Lets Solve :-

Here the data is having odd series the numbers are odd = 9 ( odd )

  • We apply the equation Median = (n+1)/2

Substitute the value of n = 9

  • (9+1)/2 = 10/2 = 5

We get the result as 5 so, the 5th term is the Median of the data

  • In the given series 5 th term = 6
