a) 3m³ – 2m² ( value of m = 2 )

= 3(2)³ – 2(2)² = 3 × 8 – 2 × 4 = 24 – 8 = 16

b) ( a – b ) + c ( value of a = 3 , b = 5 , c = b – a )

= ( 3 – 5 ) + (b – c ) = (–2) + (b – c )

c) 3a + 2b + c ( value of a = 1.5 , b = 3.2 , c = 1.2 )

= 3(1.5) + 2(3.2) + 1.2 = 4.5 + 6.4 + 1.2 = 12.1

d) 3x + 4y – 6 ( value of x = 1 ⅓ & y = 2 ¾ ;

x = 4/3 & y = 11/4 )

= 3 (4/3) + 4(11/4) – 6

= ( 4 + 11 ) – 6

= 15 – 6

= 9
