Q3. Five cards−−the ten, jack, queen, king and ace of diamonds, are well-
shuffled with their face downwards. One card is then picked up at random.
What is the probability that the card is the queen?

Total possible outcomes = Total number of cards

==> total possible outcomes = 5

Total favourable outcomes = Total number of cards of queen

==> total favourable outcomes = 1

P(E) = Total favourable outcomes / Total possible outcomes

P(E) = 1/5
