Q3. Iqbal has to push a lighter box and seema has to push a similar heavier box on the same floor. Who will have to apply a larger force and why?

The force of friction between the two surfaces will increase if the two surfaces are pressed harder against each other. Heavy box will press the floor surface harder as compared to the lighter box. That means the force of friction will be more between the heavier box and surface than between the lighter box and surface. Thus, larger force will be needed to push the heavier box than to push the lighter one. Hence, Seema has to apply more force as compared to Iqbal.
