Basant Panchami Celebration at Ranikhet

Uttarakhand, January 30, 2020: A grand celebration was organised at Ranikhet on the occasion of Basant Panchami. It started on 25th January, 2020 at the time of the morning and ended on 27th January, 2020. A huge crowd has gathered there.

           The main ground of the market place is filled with stalls. The beautiful lighting and colourful decoration are enhancing the beauty of the place. The local panchayat member of Uttarakhand came to inaugurate the programme yesterday. Folk dance and songs were performed by the artists.

Basant Panchami also known as Sripanchami, is a festival usually celebrated to worship Goddess Saraswati. It is celebrated in uttarakhand to welcome the season of spring.

The festival started on 25th of Jan and ended on 27th of Jan. The event was organised on the Ranikhet District in Uttarakhand. Huge crowds were gathered wearing yellow coloured clothes.

The ground was filled with different kind of stalls decorated with flowers and lights of bright colours. Later on the local panchayat member came to inaugurate the program. Once done with the inauguration ceremony, he gave a speech regarding Basant Panchami. And the festival ended with people dancing folk dances like chounphula and jhumelia.
