Q3. Read the following passage carefully and answer the questions that follow. [10]
Once there lived a prosperous farmer. His elder son, Balwant was very sincere and
hardworking. It was he who managed the household when his father became old and crippled.
His other son, Satwant, was a happy-go-lucky fellow. He would do nothing all the day. No one
cared to mend his days.
One day the old man passed away. Both the sons followed this routine-one working
strenuously and the other doing nothing but enjoying himself. Satwant met a businessman
from the city. He wanted Satwant to sell him a big piece of their land along the main road to
the village. He quoted an astronomical price. Satwant talked to his elder brother. Being prudent,
Balwant turned down the offer. Satwant got annoyed and asked him his share of property.
Balwant tried to make him see reason, but to no avail. At last the property and the land got
divided
