(ii) let X = 0.7272...(a)

then if we multiply it by 10 we get

10X = 7.272...(b)

then if we multiply it by 100 we get

100X = 72.7272.........(c)

now on subtracting (a) from (c) :-

10X - X = 72.7272 - 0.7272

9X = 72

X = 72/9

X = 8/1
