1/8 = 0.125
New wage = (1 + 0.125)
= 1.125 of the old wage

1/20 = 0.05
New length of working day
= (1 + 0.05)
= 1.05 of the length of the old working day.

The cost of digging the pit will increase by = 1.125 + 1.05 = 2.175
New cost = 2.175 x 1347
                = Rs. 2929.73

Answer:

Step-by-step explanation:

1/8 = 0.125

New wage = (1 + 0.125)

= 1.125 of the old wage

1/20 = 0.05

New length of working day

= (1 + 0.05)

= 1.05 of the length of the old working day.

The cost of digging the pit will increase by = 1.125 + 1.05 = 2.175

New cost = 2.175 x 1347

= Rs. 2929.73
