Q3. Two events occur at t1 = 1 us and x1 = 1 km and t2 = 10 us and x2 = 2 km respectively in an
inertial frame. Examine if there can be a suitable frame in which these two events (a) are
simultaneous and (b) occur at same place. Find their velocities with respect to the first frame. Find
the proper time interval between these two events.

Two events are defined to be simultaneous if an observer measures them as occurring at the same time. They are not necessarily simultaneous to all observers—simultaneity is not absolute. Time dilation is the phenomenon of time passing slower for an observer who is moving relative to another observer.
