"Animals" is a poem written by an American poet " Walt Whitman" .
In this poem, the poet compared human beings and animals with each other.

This poem is written in the free verse .
Hence, there is no Rhyme Scheme.

The theme of the poem is, Animals have preserved many virtues like innocence, simplicity but human beings have destroyed them over a period of time due to negligence.
So the poet wishes to be like animals and be with them. It's a revolutionary idea, expressed beautifully in the poem.

The poet has made use of Figures of Speech such as Alliteration, Repitition , Hyperbole etc.

Hence, it's a beautiful poem as, when the reader reads poem , a smile appears on his / her face .
Also, an agreement with poet in the mind appears.
