Given,

Radius of circular path = 80 m

Travelling time = 20 seconds

To find,

average velocity and average speed.

Solution,

We can simply solve this mathematical problem by using the following mathematical process.

Velocity = Displacement/time

Here, displacement = length of diameter = (80×2) = 160 metres

Velocity = 160/20 = 8 m/s

Speed = Travelled distance/time

Here, travelled distance = Circumference of the semicircle = π × 80 = 251.32 m

Speed = 251.32/20 = 12.56 m/s

Hence, the average velocity is 8 m/s and average speed is 12.56 m/s
