Q4. A man buys two cricket bats, one for Rs.1360 and the other for Rs. 1040. He sells the first bat at a gain of 15% and the second bat at a loss of 15%. Find his gain or loss on entire transaction.

1st bat ,
cp = 1360
p = (15/100)×1360 = 68×3 = 204
sp = 1360+204 = 1564

2nd bat ,

cp = 1040
L=(15/100)×1040 = 156
sp = 1040-156 = 884

Total cp = 1360+1040 = 2400
Total sp = 1564+884 = 2448
P = 2448-2400 = 48
P% = (48/2400)×100 = 2%
