Q4. Attempt any one..
(5)
(a) Read the following paragraph and answer the questions.
If heat is exchanged between hot and cold object, the temperature of cold object goes on
increasing due to gain of energy and temperature of hot object goes on decreasing due to loss
of energy. The change in temperature continues till the temperature of both objects attains the
same value. In this process the cold object gains heat energy and hot object loses heat energy. If
the system of both objects is isolated from the environment by keeping it inside a heat resistant
box then no energy can flow inside the box or come into the box.
Questions:
i) Heat is transferred from which object to which object?
Which principle do we learn about from this process?
How will you state the principle?
iv) Which property of substance is measured using this principle?
