let number 1 = n

number 2= m

n+m = 129

n= 129-m

n-m =35

n= 35 +m

129 - m = 35 +m

129 -35 =m+m

74 = 2m

37 = m

n = 129 -m =129 -37 = 92

number 1 = n = 92

number 2= m = 37

Q.4.Answer:let the 1st number = x

and 2nd number = y

according to the question-

x+y=129. - (1)

x-y= 35. -(2)

On subtracting equation (2) from (1) we get ,

2y= 94

=> y= 47

By putting value of y in equation (2) we get,

x- 47=35

=> x. = 82

So the required numbers are 82 and 47.
