Q4. You are applying for an internship at the Indian Express prepare a CV.
Answers
The Indian Express is one newspaper which doesn’t shy away from giving an opportunity to interns.
I have done two internships with them in Delhi and Chandigarh. The first one was actually granted to me in 2014 as i did their photojournalism course. They selected four of us to intern for 2 months.
Then after completing first year of MA journalism i again applied there for an internship in reporting and photojournalism. I saw that they had almost 8 to 10 interns during those summer months. And if you work hard they will provide you good story ideas that you can pursue and those will appear in the express with your byline.
I managed to get almost 50 photography and about 25 reporting bylines. So it does great for your portfolio. All you do is get a letter from your journalism department or english department, talk to the resident editor and do write a cover letter too which should explain what all you have done and why you wanna pursue journalism.
