a) weed is an unwanted plant. weed absorbs the nutrient and water of the surrounding of the crop plant. so that the desire plant do not get sufficient nutrient for the growth. sometimes some weed plants root are secreting chemical substances which is harmful for the crop plant and restrict their growth.

b) the most common chemical used to kill weeds are 2,4, di chlorophenoxy acetic acid. it is used to remove dicot weeds.
