\huge\sf\pink{Answer :}

The person is able to see the flame of candle from figure (a) where all the cardboard are placed in a straight line.

\huge\sf\pink{Explanation :}

Light travels through a straight line. In the given figure (b) the 2nd cardboard is moved to the centre so, the hole does not appear in a straight line. And since light cannot bent ( unless there is a change in the medium ) so, the light rays get dispersed and cannot travel further through it to reach the eyes.

\huge\sf\pink{Some\:\: other\: \:properties :}

1. Light does not deviate if travelling through the same medium.

2. When moving from denser to rearer medium light bends away from the Normal.

3. When traveling from rearer to denser medium light moves towards the Normal.

4. The angle of incident ( ∠i ) is equal to the angle of reflection ( ∠r ).

5. Light can travel through vacuum since, it does not need any matter to carry the energy.

[Example : Light from Sun travels through space and then reaches the Earth but, space it vaccum and even then light is able to travel. ]
