the activities which are not related with agriculture are called non farming activities. in Palampur there is about 25% of population dependent on non farming activities.

the two most common non farming activities are are are dairy farming and manufacturing.

1. dairy farm : most of the families in Palampur who do non farming activities daring farming is the most common one. people on their own cattles and feed them with Jowar and bajra and in return the get sufficient amount of dairy products.
2. manufacturing: not much people in Palampur are involved in manufacturing and in Palampur manufacturing takes place not on a big scale as an industries but on a small scale and they do not require to hire any labour as the family members themselves work as labourers.
