Q55. The present age of a Swarup is 3 years more than three times the age of his friend parneeth. Three years ,hence the swarup's age will be 8 years more than twice the age of her friend parneeth. Find the ages of Swarup and Parneeth.

Let the age of parneeth = x years.

Given that Swarup is 3 years more than three times the age of parneeth.

So, the age of Swarup = 3x + 3.


3 years hence:

= > Age of parneeth = x + 3.

= > Age of Swarup = 3x + 3 + 3.


Now,

Given that Swarup's age will be 8 years more than twice of parneeth.

= > 3x + 3 + 3 = 2(x + 3) + 8

= > 3x + 6 = 2x + 6 + 8

= > 3x + 6 = 2x + 14

= > 3x - 2x = 14 - 6

= > x = 8.


Then,

= > 3x + 3

= > 3(8) + 3

= > 27.


Therefore:

= > The age of Parneeth = 8 years.

= > The age of Swarup = 27 years.
