Answer:

After 1919, Jewish people in Germany were free and legally equal and often felt more German than Jewish. Many were wealthy and successful.

But there was an undercurrent of anti-Jewish racism, called 'anti-Semitism', in Germany. Hitler appealed to this anti-Semitism by blaming the Jewish people for Germany's defeat in the First World War. Nazi race-scientists incorrectly claimed that the Jewish people were sub-human.

Given :- In a triangle PQR, if the value of cos P is 7/8 and cos Q is 11/16 then find out the value of cos R.

Ops:

A. 1

B. 1/2

C. 1/4

D. -1/4

Solution :-

→ cos P = 7/8 = B/H

so,

→ P = √(H² - B²) { By pythagoras theorem. }

→ P = √(8² - 7²)

→ P = √(64 - 49)

→ P = √15

then,

→ sin P = P/H = √15/8

similarly,

→ cos Q = 11/16 = B/H

so,

→ P = √(H² - B²) { By pythagoras theorem. }

→ P = √(16² - 11²)

→ P = √(256 - 121)

→ P = √135

→ P = 3√15

then,

→ sin P = P/H = 3√15/16

therefore,

→ cos R = sin P * sin Q - cos P * cos Q

→ cos R = (√15/8) * (3√15/16) - (7/8) * (11/16)

→ cos R = (45/8*16) - (77/8*16)

→ cos R = (45 - 77) / (8*16)

→ cos R = (-32/8*16)

→ cos R = (-1/4) (D) (Ans.)
