Answer:

(B)The value of p is 10

Explanation:

Given that,

Mass of the balloon(m)=300kg

Acceleration with which balloon descends is

a = 2ms {}^{ - 2}

After a mass m is removed from the balloon it starts rising with same acceleration

Let the thrust on the balloon be T.From free body diagram we have

300(g )- T = 300a

Since mass m is removed we have the relations

T - (300 - m)g = (300 - m)a \\  =  >T - 300g + mg = 300a - ma \\  =  >  - 300a + mg = 300a - ma \\  =  > 600a = m(a + g) \\  =  = > m = \frac{600a}{a + g}  =  \frac{600 \times 2}{10 + 2}   \\ = 100kg

Hence the mass removed is 100kg.But given that the mass removed is '10p'kg.Therefore,

10p = 100 =  > p = 10

Hence,the value of p is 10
