Answer:

Official Opposition is a term used in Parliament of India and State Legislatures to designate the political party which has secured the second largest number of seats in either upper or lower houses. In order to get formal recognition in either upper or lower houses, the concerned party must have at least 10% of the total strength of the house.[1] A single party has to meet the 10% seat criterion, not an alliance. Many of the Indian state legislatures also follows this 10% rule while the rest of them prefer single largest opposition party according to the rules of their respective House

Congress is opposition party in India

Explanation:

I think present generation of Member of Parliament lacks the knowledge to debate in Parliament. Previously parliament was a place of debates on all the topics and then making legislation.

To hide their knowledge, Parliamentarians play the role of hooliganism. Opposition members will not listen to Government, They will shout and reach to the well of speaker forcing speaker to adjourn the house. They go home or do partying at the cost of common man money. treasury benches are also happy since there is nobody to ask uncomfortable questions. They do not try to resolve the differences with opposition members , who are otherwise not keen to stay in Parliament and discuss the various problems country is facing.India may be the only democratic country where opposition allows Government to pass annual budget, allocations etc without any debate. Whole of the last budget session was wasted by opposition in shouting.

yesterday during question hours, nephew of Mamta Banerjee was not aware that he has asked a star question and the question has come up for discussion. If anybody watches live proceeding in Parliament, he/she can observe that most of MP’s are absent. Many a times, parliament did not run since minimum number of MP’s were not present.

whole of political class is responsible for deteriorating working atmosphere inside parliament and assemblies and democracy is suffering
