Given :-

x² + 7x + 10

To Find  :-

Sum of zeroes

Solution :-

Factorizing the middle term

x² + 7x + 10 = 0

x² + (2x + 5x) + 10 = 0

x² + 2x + 5x + 10 = 0

x(x + 2) + 5(x + 2) = 0

(x + 2)(x + 5) = 0

Either

x + 2 = 0

x = 0 - 2

or,

x + 5 = 0

x = 0 - 5

x = -5

So,

Zeroes = -5 and -2

-5 + (-2)

-5 -2

-7
