Correct Question :

Two numbers are in the ratio 7:11. If 7 added to each of the numbers, the ratio becomes 2:3. Find the numbers.

Given :

⬤ Two Numbers are in the Ratio 7:11 .

⬤ If 7 is added to both , the ratio becomes 2:3 .

To Find :

⬤ The Numbers .

Solution :

Let :

  • Number A = 7x
  • Number B = 11x

If 7 is added to both the Numbers . Hence ,

  • Number A will of = 7x + 7
  • Number B will be = 11x + 7

Now :

\sf{\dfrac{7x+7}{11x+7}=\dfrac{2}{3}}

3 (7x + 7) = 2 ( 11x + 7)

21x + 21 = 22x + 14

21x - 22x = 24 - 21

-x = -7

x = 7

Therefore , The Value of x is 7 .

Hence ,

Number A = 7x

=7(7)

= 49

Number B = 11x

= 11(7)

= 77

Therefore , The two numbers are 49 and 77 .
