Q7. A bedspread is 4m long and
3m wide. A border of 25cm
wide is printed along its 4 sides.
Find the cost of printing the
border at Rs.50 per sq.m.​

Area of the border along its length = 4 m x 25 cm
= 400 cm x 25 cm
= 10000 cm²
Area of the border along its width = 3 m x 25 cm
= 300 cm x 25 cm
= 7500 cm²
Total area surrounding the border = 2( (1) + (2) )
= 2 (10000 cm² + 7500 cm² )
= 2( 100 m ² + 75 m ² )
= 2 ( 175 m² )
= 350 m²
Total cost for printing the border = 350 m² x 50
= 17500 m²
