Given ,

The length of floor = 8 m

The breadth of floor = 6 m

The size of square tile = 0.8 m

The cost of per square tile = ₹ 7

We know that , the area of rectangle is given by

 \large  \mathtt{ \underline{\fbox{Area  \: of  \: rectangle = length \times  breadth }}}

 \sf \hookrightarrow Area = 8 \times 6 \\  \\\sf \hookrightarrow  Area = 48 \:  \:  {m}^{2}

Thus , the area of floor is 48 m²

Now , the area of square is given by

  \mathtt{\large \underline{ \fbox{Area  \: of  \: square =  {(side)}^{2} }}}

 \sf \hookrightarrow Area = 0.8 \times  0.8 \\  \\ \sf \hookrightarrow  Area = 0.64 \:  \:  {m}^{2}

Thus , the area of each tile is 0.64 m²

So ,

The number of tiles required to cover the floor of the room is 48/0.64 = 75 tiles

Since , each tile costs Rs 12

The total cost = 75 × 12 = Rs 900

Hence , the cost of covering the floor is Rs 900

Step-by-step explanation:

Area of floor = 8×6m

= 48sqm

Area of tiles = 0.8×0.8

= 0.64 sqm

Number of tiles required = 48/0.64

Cost of 1 tiling = *12 per

=12 × 48

= *576
