1. Something like table salt (NaCl) is a compound because it is made from more than one kind of element (sodium and chlorine), but it is not a molecule because the bond that holds NaCl together is an ionic bond. If you like, you can say that sodium chloride is an ionic compound.

2. The valence electrons present in graphite can move freely and therefore, they can conduct electricity. As electrodes also allow the electric current to pass through them ( that is made up of good conductor) in electric cells, therefore, graphite is used for making electrodes in electric cells.

3. Copper electrical wires are safer to use than wires made of most other conductive metals because they are resistant to heat. As you can see, copper is the preferred metal for electrical wires for several reasons. It has high electrical conductive; it's inexpensive; it's ductile, and it's thermal resistant.
