Government is often not ANSWERABLE to the general people and hence they do not pay heed to the nerd of people. However the media helps a lot by reaching to such poor sections of society who are in urgent need.
They help the people by forcing the government to impose decisions that can work for welfare of the general people. Hence media helps a country(it can be any country) and is a medium where people can voice their problems and be assured that it would get solved.
