Given :

Soham painted the outside of the cabinet of measure 1.5 m x 3 m x 2.5 m.

To find :

  • How much surface area did he cover if he painted all except the bottom of the cabinet

Solution :

★ Length of the cabinet = 1.5 m

★ Breadth of the cabinet = 3m

★ Height of the cabinet = 2.5 m

According to the formula of total surface area of cuboid

→ 2(lb + bh + lh)

Focus Zone : He painted all except the bottom of the cabinet

★ lb + 2bh + 2lh

  • Substitute the values

→ 1.5 × 3 + 2 × 3 × 2.5 + 2 × 1.5 × 2.5

→ 4.5 + 15 + 7.5

→ 27 m²

•°• Surface area of cabinet except bottom i.e 27 m²

Answer:

Given :-

  • Soham painted the outside of the cabinet of measure 1.5 m × 3 m × 2.5 m.

To Find :-

  • What is the surface area did he cover if he painted all except the bottom of the cabinet.

Formula Used :-

T.S.A = lb + 2bh + 2lh

where,

  • T.S.A = Total surface area
  • l = Length
  • b = Breadth
  • h = Height

Solution :-

Given :

  • Length = 1.5 m
  • Breadth = 3 m
  • Height = 2.5 m

According to the question by using the formula we get,

T.S.A = 1.5 × 3 + 2(3)(2.5) + 2(1.5)(2.5)

T.S.A = 4.5 + 15 + 7.5

T.S.A = 19.5 + 7.5

T.S.A = 27

The surface area did he cover if he painted all except the bottom of the cabinet is 27 .
