8) The eighteenth century witnessed the emergence of the middle class in France who were the change-makers from the third estate. They earned their wealth through an overseas trade and by manufacturing goods such as woollen and silk textiles that were further exported or bought by the rich class.

9) The Indian landmass has a central location between East and West Asia. India is a southward extension of the Asian continent. The trans Indian Ocean routes which connect the countries of Europe in the West to the countries of East Asia provide a strategic central location to India.
