Answer

Let the number of apples the seller

had be x

Apples sold by the seller = 72% of x

Remaining apples with the seller = number of apples the seller initially

had - number of apples sold

= x - 72% of x

= 28% of x

According to the given information,

28% of x = 70

x = 70 x (100/28)

x = 250

Hence, 250 is the correct answer.
