 2x - 3 =0

x= 3/2

put this value of x in p(x),

2x3 - 9x2 + x +12

= 2(3/2)cube - 9(3/2)square + (3/2) + 12

by solving you will get -81/4 which is not equal to 0

therefore, g(x) is not a factor of p(x)

                = p(x) is not a multiple of g(x)
