No. of boys = 240
Nd no. of girls = 3x / 7
=> 240 + 3x / 7 = x
x - 3x / 7 = 240
4x / 7 = 240
4x = 240 * 7
x = 240 * 7 / 4
x = 420
So, no. of girls = 3 * 420 / 7
= 180

=> no of boys + no of girls = total no of students

=> 240 + 3x/7= x

=> 240 = x - 3x/7

=> 240 = 7x - 3x /7

=> 240 = 4x/7

=> x = 240×7/4

=> x = 420

Total no of students 420

now,

no of girls students are =3x/7= 3 ×420/7= 60 ×3 = 180
