Answer:

a) Distance = 8km        ( 1 block = 1km)

∴ , Distance covered = 8km

b)Displacement -

Let the displacement be d

⇒ d² = 5² + 3²              (Pythagoras Theorem )

⇒ d² = 25 + 9

⇒ d² = 34

Explanation:

Distance is the total distance covered hence it is 8km ie. 5km (a to b)+3km (b to c)

The magnitude of displacement will ONLY THE NUMBER , NOT THE UNIT .

Answer:

a) Distance =ab+bc=5+3= 8km        ( 1 unit of the graph = 1km)

∴ Distance covered = 8km

b)Displacement -

Let the displacement be d

⇒ d² = 5² + 3²              (Pythagoras Theorem )

⇒ d² = 25 + 9

⇒ d² = 34

Explanation:

Distance is the total distance covered hence it is 8km ie. 5km (a to b)+3km (b to c)

The magnitude of displacement will ONLY THE NUMBER , NOT THE UNIT .
