Given:

• distance covered by the car = 75km

• time taken by the car to cover the distance = 1hr

To Find:

distance covered by the car in 45 minutes

Solution:

➙car speed = 75km per hour

➙time = \tt{45mins \:  =  \frac{45}{60} hours}

➙Distance = to be found in km

As we know that:

\tt\underline\red{distance = speed × time}

 \tt{\implies \: distance \:  = 75km/hr \times   \frac{45}{60} hours}

\tt{ \implies \: distance \:  = 75 \times  \frac{45}{60}}

\tt {\implies \: distance = 75  \times  \frac{3}{4}}

\tt {\implies \: distance \:  =  \frac{225}{4} }

\implies\tt\underline\purple {  distance = 56.25km}

Hence:

  • the distance covered by the car in 45 minutes is 56.25 kilometres
