Given :

  • The denominator of a fraction is 6 more than numerator.
  • The sum of numerator & denominator is 30.

To find :

  • The fraction.

Solution :

Consider,

  • Numerator = x
  • Denominator = y

According to the 1st condition :-

  • The denominator of the fraction is 6 more than denominator.

\to\sf{y=x+6............(i)}

According to the 2nd condition :-

  • The sum of numerator and denominator is 30.

\to\sf{x+y=30}

\to\sf{x+x+6=30\:[put\:y=x+6]}

\to\sf{2x+6=30}

\to\sf{2x=30-6}

\to\sf{2x=24}

\to\sf{x=12}

  • Numerator = 12

Now put x = 12 in eq(I) for getting the value of y.

\to\sf{y=x+6}

\to\sf{y=12+6}

\to\sf{y=18}

  • Denominator = 18

Therefore,

{\boxed{\sf{The\: fraction=\dfrac{12}{18}}}}

Answer:

12/18

Step-by-step explanation:

Let the numerator be x

then, the denominator will be x+6

as they said that the denominator is 6 more than the numerator

numerator+denominator=30

i.e, x+(x+6)=30

2x+6=30

2x=30-6=24

x=24/2=12

therefore, the numerator(x) is 12 and the denominator is (x+6=12+6) 18

and the required fraction is 12/18.
