Answer:

Formula

Perimeter of a rectangle = 2 (Length + Breadth)

Area of a rectangle = Length × Breadth

As given

The ratio of the length and breadth of a rectangular field 3:2,if the area of the field 3456 m² .

Let us assume that y be the scalar multiple of the length and breadth of a rectangle .

Length = 3y

Breadth = 2y

Put all the values in the formula

y² = 576

√576 = 24

y = 24

Length = 3 × 24

           = 72 m

Breadth = 2 × 24

             = 48 m

Put values in the formula

Perimeter of a rectangle field = 2 × (72 + 48)

                                                 = 2 × 120

                                                 = 240 m

As given

Cost of fencing the field at rate of Rs 3.50. Per meter.

Total cost of fencing = Perimeter of  a rectangle field  × Cost of  fencing per meter .

                                 = 240 × 3.50

                                 = Rs 840

Therefore the cost of fencing of rectangular field is Rs 840 .
