A London boy visiting rural Scotland set out for a swim. Suddenly with cramps, he shouted for help. A farm boy in a nearby field jumped into the lake and brought him ashore. A few years later, the city youth came again to the village and asked the boy who had saved his life what plans he had for the future. He learnt that being poor he could not study medicine. So, the parents of the city youth gave the money that he required to pursue his dream. The farm lad whose name was Alexander Fleming graduated and went into a career of scientific research. In 1928 he found that a new drug called penicillin killed all germs. The London youth also had risen to fame. During the Second World War he went to meet Roosevelt and Stalin and became ill with pneumonia. His condition was critical, so penicillin, the drug discovered by Sir Alexander Fleming the farm lad whohad saved his life in youth, was flown out to the sick man, and his life was again saved. For the second time Alexander Fleming had saved the life of Winston Churchill, then Prime Minister.
