Let a's present age be x
b's present age=x-9
a's age 3year later=x+3
b's age 4year ago=x-9-4
x+3+x-9-4=76
2x-10=76
2x=86
x=43
b's present age =43-9=34
c's present age=34/2=17
c's age after 10year=27

The c’s age of after 10 years is 27 years.

To find:

Age of c (in years) after 10 years = ?

Solution:

Let us assume age of a as x.

Nine years later, b’s age will be ‘equal to the present age of a’.

Present age of b = x - 9

Sum of a's age ‘3 years later and b's age 4 years’ ago is 76

Age of a after 3 years = x + 3

Age of b after 4 years = x - 9 - 4

x + 3 + x - 9 - 4 = 76

2x + 3 -13 = 76

2x -10 = 76

2x = 76 + 10

2x = 86

x = 43 years.

Hence, present age of ‘a’ is 43 years.

Present age of b = x - 9 = 43 - 9 = 34 years.

C is half of the ‘present age of b’. Hence, age of c=\frac{34}{2}=17\ years.

Hence, age of c after 10 years = 17 + 10 = 27 years
