Pure water does not conduct electricity. In order to make it conducting, add some salts into it. These impurities dissolved in the water will make it conducting in nature.

Pure water is free of ions. As a solution containing ions is required for conduction of electricity, we must mix the water with some salts.

  • We can never find pure water in our natural environment. Pure water is prepared artificially.
  • Pure water is actually a good insulator of electricity.
  • In order to make pure water conducting, we simply need to add some common salt (NaCl) into it.
