♦ Given

• There are nine balls numbered 1-9

♦ To find out in how many ways Two balls can be picked That there sum gives a odd No.

♦ First we will find out how to get odd as a sum of two numbers .

Case 1 :-

>> When Odd is added to Odd

:- Result - Even ( Not required)

Case 2 :-

>> When Even is added to Even

:- Result - Even ( Not required)

Case 3 :-

>> When Odd is added to Even

:+ Result - Odd ( required)

♦ So we have to add a Odd with a Even number to get Odd .

♦ Now between 1-9

>> No. of even Numbers = 4

>> No. of odd Numbers = 5

>> Possible ways of choosing

= 5 and 4

= 5 × 4

= 20 ways

♦ So we can choose in 20 different ways .

♦ Option A is your answer .
