QR is the diameter of a circle with center O. If OP=13 cm and PR=10 cm ,find the length of PQ

Anonymous: is P a point on the circumfrence?
aakritibhattarai: Yes
aakritibhattarai: Pls solve it fast I need to go school
aakritibhattarai: Answer is 24 cm in book
Anonymous: The problem is the question itself isn't correct. PR cannot be equal to 10. Try drawing it out to see what I mean
aakritibhattarai: How can I send you a photo pls tell me I want to send u a photo of question
Anonymous: there should be a paperclip symbol. Click that to add your pic. Search it up if that helps

Answer:

18.4 cm

Step-by-step explanation:

PO is a radius that is 13 cm. That means that OQ which is also a radius has a measure of 13 cm. Together lines PO, OQ and PQ make a right triangle. PQ  is the hypotenuse which we solve for:

c^2= 13^2 + 13^2

c^2= 338

c = 18.4 cm

PS

Line PR can't be 10 cm because using the tangent property it wont mathematically correspond to the other measurements in a right triangle. Try drawing it out and solving for RO to get what I mean.
