Qs 2- A sum of Rs 1200 was lent at a simple interest rate of 6whole1/4% p.a. and another sum of Rs 1000 was lent at a simple interest rate of 8whole1/3% p.a. After how many years will the amounts in the two investments be equal?

let after x years the amounts in the two investment be equal

so,

1200+1200.x.25/400=1000+1000.x.25/300

=> 1200+75x=1000+250x/3

=> 1200-1000=250x/3-75x

=> 200=(250x-225x)/3

=> 200.3=25x

=> x=200.3/25

=> x=24

so, after 24 years the two investment be equal
