Acceleration is a vector quantity which tells us how change in velocity with respect to time.
That is acceleration=change in velocity/change in time.
If a particle free falls under gravity then there is constant acceleration or if a car moves same velocity then there is no accelerartion

if the body is going up then the acceleration will be negative that is -9.8 m/s² . and if body is falling down then the acceleration will be positive i.e. 9.8 m/s²
