If mx² + (3x - 1)m + 2x + 5 = 0 has equal roots of opposite signs then m = - 2/3

Step-by-step explanation:

Question should be

mx² + (3x - 1)m + 2x + 5 = 0

=> mx²  + 3mx - m + 2x + 5 = 0

=> mx² + (3m + 2)x + 5 - m = 0

as it given that Equal roots but  of opposite sign

=> Sum of roots = 0

Sum of roots =   -(3m+2)/m

-(3m+2)/m  = 0

=> 3m + 2 = 0

=> m = -2/3
