Answer:

Given :

x² - 2ax + (a² - b²) = 0

(x² - 2ax + a²) - (b²) = 0

(x)² - 2a×x + (a)² - b²

(x - a)² - (b)² = 0

[(a)² - 2ab + (b)² = (a - b)²]

(x - a - b) (x - a + b) = 0

[ a² - b² = (a - b)(a + b)]

x - a - b = 0 or x - a + b = 0

x = a + b or x = a - b

Hence, the value of x is (a +b) or (a-b)

Answer:

Given,

x^2 +2ax+(a^2 −b^2 )=0

=> x^2+{(a+b)+(a−b)}x+(a−b)(a+b)=0

=> x(x+a+b)+(a−b)(x+a+b)=0

=> (x+a+b)(x+(a−b))=0

=> x=−(a+b),−(a−b).
