Question

Quadratic polynomial with zeros 2&1/2

Solution

Given:-

  • Zeroes are 2 & 1/2 .

Find:-

  • Quadratic polynomial equation

Explanation

For, quadratic equation

first calculate Sum of Zeroes & second Product of zeroes .

So,

==> Sum of zeroes = 2 + 1/2

==> Sum of zeroes = (4+1)/2

==> Sum of zeroes = 5/2

And,

==> Product of zeroes = 2 × 1/2

==> Product of zeroes = 1

Equation Formula

x² - (Sum of zeroes)x + (product of zeroes) = 0

So, keep above all values

==> x² - (5/2) x + 1 = 0

Or,

Multiply by 2 both sides,

==> 2x² - 2 × (5/2)x + 1 × 2 = 2 × 0

==> 2x² - 5x + 2 = 0

Hence, Required Equation be

  • Equation, 2x² - 5x + 2 = 0
