1. Take AB as base=5.5

2. At A draw angle ABY=45 degree

3. cut off from AY, a segment AD=5 cm

4. With B as centre and radius 3.5cm draw an arc

5. With D as centre and radius 5 cm draw an arc cutting the first arc at C

6. join B to C and C to D

Then ABCD is a required quadrilateral

Step 1: Steps for construction

           Take AB as 5.5 cm                                    

Step 2: construct as 45 degree  

Step 3: At A draw angle ABY=45 degree    

Step 4: cut off from AY, a segment AD=5 cm

Step 5: With B as centre and radius as 3.5cm draw a arc.

Step 6: With D as center and mark radius as 5 cm and draw an arc cut the 1st arc at C

Step 7: join B to C and C to D

Result: Then ABCD is a required quadrilateral
